Yaremche (before 2006 - Yaremcha) - a town of regional significance in Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine.
Located in the valley of the Prut River at an altitude of 585 meters above sea level. December 14, 2006 Verkhovna Rada renamed the city Yaremcha in Yaremcha.
The city is situated on the road Ivano-Frankivsk - Rakhiv - Uzhgorod. The railway connects the city with a regional center and Lviv.
Yaremcha - lowland climate and the ski resort of the forest zone, surrounded by mountains, which in the north and south of the pass into the hills, covered with coniferous and deciduous forest.
Yaremcha belongs to the category of cities of regional subordination, with the inclusion of the city limits of settlements: Yaremche with neighborhoods Yamna and Dora, village Vorohta, village Mykulychyn, Tatariv, Yablunitsa, Voronenko Palyanitsa. All the items have the status of mountain classified as spa. Municipalities located in the valley of the Prut River and its tributaries at altitudes from 530 to 900 m. The highest mountain point in Ukraine - Goverla (2061 m), through which the boundary between Ivano-Frankivsk and Transcarpathian region. Discount programs are located in the south-western region in the central part of the Ukrainian Carpathians within the mountain formations Horhany, Pokutsko-Bukovina Carpathians and Chernogory.
Legend: It is believed that the first settled among the mountains, poor Yarema and on his behalf there was a name of the city.
